SUFFERING AS THE GROWING PAINS OF THE SOUL
We are living in extraordinary times. Things are changing fast. The world as we know it is not the same as we thought it would be. But do not despair, this is a shift in consciousness, as part of the evolutionary process of humanity.
We need to find meaning in our suffering. It has a purpose. It is the growing pains of the soul. However, natural Spiritual Emergence can turn into an Emergency particularly in these rapidly changing times that we live in. This is when our personal transformation can become a Crisis.
Many people who are engaged in personal transformational practices to help them emerge spiritually are experiencing crises when the process of growth and change become chaotic and overwhelming. These spiritual emergencies often manifest as a sense of their identity breaking down, that their old values no longer hold true, and that the very ground beneath their personal realities is radically shifting. Often, new realms of mystical and spiritual experiences enter their lives suddenly and dramatically, causing fear and confusion. Symptoms such as stress, anxiety, depression, and soul loss may appear causing difficulty for them in coping with their daily lives, relationships, and work. They may even be fearful that they are losing their sanity.
Unfortunately, much of modern psychiatry and psychology has failed to distinguish these episodes from mental illness. As a result, transformational crises are often suppressed by these out-moded medical model approaches to Transpersonal Phenomena.
However, there is a new perspective developing amongst mental health professionals and those studying spiritual development that views such crises as transformative breakthroughs rather than breakdowns and have huge potential for body, mind and spirit healing. When understood and treated in a supportive manner, spiritual emergencies can become gateways to higher levels of functioning and enhance new ways of being alive.
On our next Transpersonal Therapist Training Online Modules, we will explore the different forms of spiritual emergencies, signs and symptoms, causes, and what can be done to help those in crisis and also their family and friends who often feel confused, isolated and helpless in the face of this crisis.

Who can help and how
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is relevant to anybody who is interested in personal development and healing. It is also applicable to anyone with an interest in Shamanism or Transpersonal Psychology. In the past, we have had a wide variety of practitioners and non practitioners complete our training. This includes Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Yoga teachers, Artists, Holistic Practitioners, Medical Nurses and Doctors, as well as people who previously did not practice in any discipline.
Indeed, during the training, we will explore in depth the archetype of 'The Wounded Healer', and 'The Way of the Wound'. This essentially means that Healers and Therapists who have journeyed to the depths of their own 'woundedness' to find healing for themselves, are better able to guide others to find their own healing. We are not interested in any group more than another, and encourage anyone with an interest in the Transpersonal perspective to take part.
