THE ELEMENTS OF SHAMANISM
ABOUT THIS COURSE
This is our new online course on the Elements of Shamanism delivered by The Irish Centre for Shamanic Studies and Martin Duffy from Dunderry Park in Co. Meath, Ireland.
This course includes five lectures in total, one being an experiential module and two Recorded Question and Answer Sessions.
The first module will be on the cosmology and history of shamanism which includes a description of the four worlds (the lower world, the middle world, the upper world and the underworld). The second lecture will be on the archaic techniques of ecstasy-non ordinary states of consciousness. The third lecture will be on soul loss and soul retrieval. The fourth lecture will be on death-rebirth and psychopomp work. The fifth module will be an experiential demonstration on Shamanic Techniques and Practices. The Q&A sessions were recorded live and addressed participants questions about different aspects of the course.

What will you learn on this course?
You will learn the history and Cosmology of Shamanism, how to take a Shamanic Journey, Call in the Directions, Setup an altar, the Shamanic use of the drum and rattle and how to do Ritual and Ceremony.
How will the course work?
This course will guide you in the Way of the Shaman over 5 lectures, guided experiential journeys, curated reading and documentary lists, an online community hub where all students can interact. There are also two Q&A Sessions that were recorded live addressing people's questions about different aspects of the course. Once you purchase the course, you will receive an email with a link to a Private Page on the Website where you will have unlimited access to the course, recommended reading and documentary films. We have included a thirty minute drumming session for the Shamanic Journey that we recommend after each module.
About Martin Duffy
Martin Duffy is one of the leading voices on Shamanism in the world today having worked as a mental health professional for over 35 years. He is an accredited Jungian, Transpersonal and Humanistic Psychotherapist. He has trained with Indigenous Shaman’s in the Amazon, Andes, South Africa, Mexico and Mongolia. He has also trained with Stanislav Grof as a Holotropic Breathwork facilitator and Transpersonal Therapist. Martin’s work is heavily influenced by the Druidic traditions of ancient Ireland. He comes from a lineage of traditional Folk Healers following in the footsteps of his mother and grandfather. He has been the director of The Irish Centre for Shamanic Studies for over 24 years.

This Course is suitable for people new to Shamanism who want a theoretical, experiential and practical overview of Shamanic Cosmology and History. The course will also benefit Shamanic Practitioners who want to review, revise and re-visit what they have learned on their Shamanic Practitioners Course.
